The Image Institute

Imagine recognizes that the impact of white supremacy and racism begins in utero and continues throughout a child’s life. We are committed to working with early childhood educators (ECEs) to understand systemic racism and bias and how it impacts the children in their care while learning strategies to mitigate the violence of racism on children. This understanding goes far beyond inclusion and acceptance: The goal is not to work to include children and families in care environments that foster internalized and interpersonal racism but to address the root causes of racial inequity by deconstructing those environments so that they no longer sow the seeds of racism and white supremacy.

The PREPARE for Care program a 60 hour anti-racist and trauma-informed curriculum designed specifically for early childhood educators aimed at mitigating the impacts of racialized trauma on children by assisting providers with implementing practices designed to build resilience and decolonize their care environments.
